American overclocker Splave has set two new 3DMark records using liquid nitrogen and a heavily overclocked AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics card.
American overclocker Splave has taken first place in the 3DMark - Fire Strike Ultra and 3DMark - Fire Strike Extreme categories for the recently released, flagship AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT.
To achieve these impressive results, the enthusiast used a 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor overclocked to 5,200 MHz. Splave cooled the CPU with a phase-change setup, while the Radeon RX 6900 XT was chilled using a liquid nitrogen pot. This combination allowed him to hit impressive clock speeds: ~2,700 MHz for the GPU and ~17,000 MHz for the GDDR6 memory:
The test bench consisted of the following components:
Motherboard: ASRock X570 Taichi;
Thermal paste: Thermal Grizzly Kryo Extreme;
LN2 container: 8ECC Raptor IV;
Power supply: Enermax Maxtytan 1250W.
And it looked like this:
