Rumors are swirling about the cancellation of the E3 2020 gaming expo due to COVID-19 fears. Sources confirm an official announcement is expected soon.
For the past few days, rumors have been swirling about the very real possibility of E3 2020's cancellation. The gaming expo is scheduled for June 9-11, and the reason, unfortunately, comes as no surprise: fears surrounding the COVID-2019 coronavirus.
According to multiple sources, the ESA will officially announce E3 2020's cancellation very soon.
Devolver Digital subtly hinted at this in their Twitter account:

Those planning to attend the show this year might want to cancel their flights and hotel rooms.
Adding to this, Kotaku's Jason Schreier confirmed Devolver Digital's tweet, writing that, according to his information, the event's cancellation is just a matter of time:

This outcome was clearly on the horizon, but the realization that E3, an event eagerly awaited by all gamers, is truly on the chopping block and could be canceled any minute, is still unsettling.
Hopefully, the coronavirus epidemic will subside by summer, and the ESA will have a chance to hold E3 2020 a bit later, but still within this year.
