Overclocker RSR set a new record in GPUPI for CPU - 1B with his AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X, earning gold in the model ranking but only silver in the 24-core leaderboard.
Barely a day after registering his last record, British overclocker RSR has already posted a new result. This time, the enthusiast conquered the discipline GPUPI for CPU - 1B, where RSR achieved a respectable score of 52 seconds, 556 milliseconds.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe Ryzen Threadripper 3960X's frequency didn't change much from the previous bench session, clocking in at 4475.4MHz:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИHowever, this result was only enough for the Brit to secure first place in the Threadripper 3960X model ranking. In the 24-core leaderboard, though, the overclocker only managed second.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИInterestingly, if we look at the 24-core ranking itself, a rather curious detail emerges:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИFor a long time now, the top spot has been held by a French overclocker named Niuulh, and what's most surprising is that this record was set on a previous-generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX chip! The lead is so significant that it's unlikely anyone will surpass the Frenchman's result in the near future. At least not until the updated Ryzen Threadripper 4000 lineup, based on an improved 7-nanometer process, is released.
Since the last bench session, RSR's test bench remains unchanged and consists of the following components:
Motherboard — ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme
RAM — G.SKILL TridentZ RGB F4-4266C17-8GTZR (4x 8GB sticks)
Power supply — SuperNOVA T2 1200-watt
Graphics card — EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Kingpin Edition
