Overclocker Keeph8n pushed an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X to 5050 MHz with liquid nitrogen, securing first place in the 24-core leaderboard.
American enthusiast keeph8n has set a highly impressive record on the TRX40 platform. Armed with a 24-core, 48-thread AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X overclocked to 5,050 MHz, the overclocker scored 16,974 points in the popular Cinebench - R20 benchmark:
These results earned the American overclocker a gold medal in the individual CPU category and secured the top spot in the overall 24-core rankings.
Reaching such high clock speeds (and 5,050 MHz is an incredible feat for a 24-core chip) is virtually impossible without liquid nitrogen. To make it happen, keeph8n used a custom Kingpin Cooling LN2 pot on his test bench.
The Threadripper 3960X was paired with a flagship ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha motherboard, a DDR4 RAM kit consisting of four 8GB G.SKILL Trident Z NEO sticks (F4-3800C14-8GTZN), and a premium 1600W SuperNOVA T2 power supply.
