New details on 3rd and 4th gen AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPUs: a leak about a 16-core sample, its performance, and rumors of a 64-core model.
Our old friend APISAK, who recently leaked RTX 2080 SUPER performance data, has shared new details about the future of the Threadripper CPU lineup:

Additionally, the AIDA64 database has added support for AMD "Vermeer" (the codename for the latest generation of Ryzen on the AM4 platform) and, more importantly, AMD "Genesis" (the probable codename for 4th gen Threadripper).
UserBenchmark results shed light on an upcoming 16-core, 32-thread engineering sample codenamed "Castle Peak".
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe processor operates at a 3600MHz base clock and a 4000MHz peak frequency. Compared to its predecessor, the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X, this engineering sample features a 100MHz higher base clock but a 400MHz lower boost clock. This could be due to it being an immature engineering sample. It's likely that the final frequencies at launch will be similar to those of 3rd gen Ryzen processors on the AM4 platform.
Performance gains over the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X are 11% in single-threaded workloads and 18% when utilizing all available threads.
Rumors suggest the top-tier 3rd gen Ryzen Threadripper model will feature 64 cores and 128 threads. However, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
