Finnish overclocker Luumi has broken the record set by Greece's OGS to claim the top spot for the GeForce RTX 3090 in the 3DMark Port Royal benchmark.
Finnish overclocker Luumi has broken the recent record set by Greek enthusiast OGS, taking first place in the GeForce RTX 3090 category of 3DMark - Port Royal.
Interestingly, while OGS achieved gold using GALAX's flagship GeForce RTX 3090 HOF OC Lab Edition, Luumi went with an EVGA card to claim the top spot. Commenting on the Finn's record, some fellow overclockers have already noted that EVGA is "striking back" with this win.
It will be fascinating to see where this rivalry goes. But let's look at Luumi's record-breaking run itself:
Using liquid nitrogen pots to cool both the EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 and an Intel Core i9-10900K, the overclocker pushed the GPU to 2805 MHz (+101.08% over stock) and the GDDR6X memory to 23,104 MHz (+18.46%), while the CPU ran at 5400 MHz (+45.95%). This massive overclock pushed Luumi's 3DMark - Port Royal score to a record-breaking 18,710 points:
This achievement puts Luumi ahead of OGS in both the single-GPU ranking and the overall 3DMark - Port Royal leaderboard.
Alongside the EVGA graphics card, the Finnish overclocker used the company's highly capable Z490 DARK KINGPIN motherboard.
