Overclocker keeph8n has moved to the Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX, setting a new Geekbench3 Multi Core record at 4200MHz. We're expecting new liquid nitrogen records soon.
It looks like American overclocker keeph8n has temporarily put aside his favorite Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX and switched to the top-tier 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe TR4 platform has long been a familiar sight for keeph8n and today he proved it by taking gold in Geekbench3 - Multi Core with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX processor, overclocked to 4200MHz.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИI have a strong feeling these are just "warm-up" results. It's possible we'll soon see an even higher score, driven by truly impressive CPU frequencies well beyond 4500MHz.
In the past, keeph8n had a similar start with the Ryzen Threadripper 2970WX. It began with extremely low frequencies, followed by a period of quiet, and then a 5GHz breakthrough along with a handful of gold medals.
It seems the ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme motherboard proved to be the enthusiast's savior. After all, it was after keeph8n switched to it that the overclocker achieved numerous records.
It's also worth noting that the processor was cooled by an AIO liquid cooling system, not liquid nitrogen. This undoubtedly impacted the final frequency. We're looking forward to liquid nitrogen experiments and new record attempts.
