11th-gen Intel Core processors are set to go on sale March 15, while the next-generation Alder Lake-S desktop lineup will be unveiled in September.
While previous reports suggested Intel's Rocket Lake-S wouldn't launch until mid-April, new information indicates the 11th-gen Core processors will hit shelves two weeks earlier, on March 15.
Alongside the new CPUs, buyers can expect 500-series motherboards. These boards will bring PCIe 4.0 support to unlock the full potential of modern GPUs and NVMe SSDs.
Furthermore, our source claims the upcoming 12th-gen Alder Lake-S processors will be built on the advanced 10nm Enhanced SuperFin process. In theory, this should make Alder Lake-S even more power-efficient, as previous assumptions pointed to the standard 10nm SuperFin node.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИWe could see the 12th-gen Core lineup announced as early as September 2021, though pandemic-related delays are always possible. If Intel's plans hold, Alder Lake-S processors and the LGA1700 socket with PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 support will debut in early 2022.
