FromSoftware just dropped the first full trailer for Elden Ring. It looks visually akin to Dark Souls but introduces new mechanics like horseback riding and an open world. The game is set to launch on January 21, 2022.
FromSoftware, the creators of the legendary Dark Souls series and arguably the pioneers of the "souls-like" genre, have released the first full trailer for their new project, Elden Ring.

Visually, the game doesn't deviate much from its predecessors, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Dark Souls 3. In some shots, it even strongly feels like we're seeing footage from the latest Dark Souls installment. However, that feeling quickly vanishes the moment the protagonist appears on screen atop a faithful steed. Neither Dark Souls, Bloodborne, nor Sekiro featured similar mounted gameplay, nor did they boast the giant open-world areas abundantly showcased in the trailer.
Elden Ring will be released on January 21, 2022, and will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
