Early NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 benchmarks have leaked, showing a performance advantage of up to 25% over the RTX 2080 Ti, but not the twofold increase promised.
Our colleagues at VideoCardz have shared the first leaked performance results for the GeForce RTX 3080 in real-world games and applications. And just as NVIDIA claimed, the GeForce RTX 3080 significantly outperforms the previous top-tier GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
In the games tested, the performance difference reaches up to 25%, and when compared to the RTX 2080 Super, that lead extends to 40%:
However, as you've likely already guessed, this isn't quite the "twofold" advantage of the GeForce RTX 3080 over the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti that Jensen Huang, the "green giant's" ever-present CEO, spoke about. Of course, drawing final conclusions from tests in just two games and a single benchmark is pointless, but it's an early warning shot. Perhaps the GeForce RTX 3080 will show a more significant lead in other titles or with ray tracing enabled?
We'll get answers to these questions very soon, though. The embargo on independent GeForce RTX 3080 performance reviews lifts in just two days.
