Destiny 2's 2.7.1 update, arriving next week, will fix FPS drops and improve menu loading times. Some issues still require further testing.
Update 2.7.1 aims to fix frame rate drops during certain in-game events and boost the loading speed of game menus (inventory, navigation console, etc.).
According to Bungie, update 2.7.1 is set to launch next week, on Tuesday. Here are some of the fixes to expect from the new patch:
Garden of Salvation Raid - Fixed a performance issue that could occur when pieces of land return or are removed during the final boss encounter.
Fixed some performance issues in the Pit of Heresy dungeon.
Improved performance when receiving certain notifications, placing tributes, or interacting with Obelisks. The biggest impact will be in the Tower, but this fix should also help with planetary Obelisks.
Beyond these immediate fixes, Bungie is also working on further Destiny 2 performance improvements. However, these require more extensive testing, so they won't be included in the upcoming update:
UI stuttering and frame rate drops when loading menus or applying weapon/armor mods
Frame rate issues in Gambit and Gambit Prime
Frame rate issues during the Consecrated Mind encounter in the Garden of Salvation Raid
Frame rate issues in the Pit of Heresy dungeon, especially in the tunnels
General PC performance improvements when there's a lot of debris on the ground (ammo, bodies, etc.)
There's no word on when these additional fixes will be released, but knowing Bungie, it probably won't be soon.
Just a reminder: the base version of Destiny 2 is available for free on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and update 2.7.1 is scheduled for release early next week.
