AMD has identified the cause of Destiny 2 startup issues on Ryzen 3000 and implemented a BIOS fix. The updated BIOS is expected to be available in the coming days.
Recently, AMD released a statement regarding a compatibility fix faced by owners of new-gen Ryzen 3000 processors:
«AMD has identified the root cause of the issue affecting the ability to launch certain Linux distributions and Destiny 2 on Ryzen 3000 processors and has implemented a BIOS fix. We have distributed the updated BIOS to our motherboard partners and expect consumers to have access to the new BIOS in the coming days. Regarding Destiny 2, this is a truly nasty bug that we discovered post-launch. Plain and simple: I apologize. This isn't a title that's part of our standard test suite, so it's hard to test reliably. Getting back to Destiny 2, I hope you'll help me test the workaround driver that should help you with the game. This is a beta chipset driver, and it might throw one or two warnings during installation if you're updating an existing driver, but I believe it should circumvent the D2 launch issue. Rumor has it the x86 RDRAND instruction is to blame, though this remains unconfirmed.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe Destiny 2 and certain Linux distribution startup error emerged right when Zen 2-based processors launched, and a solution has been in development until now.
