ASUS is set to launch new X570S motherboards with passive cooling this Q3, finally addressing the irritating fan noise that plagued earlier X570 chipset designs.
Upon their release, AMD X570-based motherboards, despite featuring a top-tier chipset, were met with a rather lukewarm reception. The primary reason? The active cooling required for the chipset. Even the then-cutting-edge PCIe 4.0 interface couldn't save these new products from criticism. Most X570 board owners reported the cooling solution was quite noisy, especially when peripherals utilized the infamous PCIe 4.0 interface.
Evidently, consumers simply couldn't come to terms with motherboards equipped with actively cooled chipsets.
Fortunately, a solution to this problem is on the horizon. ASUS announced via its official Twitter account that it will introduce fanless X570 chipset motherboards in Q3 this year (presumably, these new devices will have distinct designations like X570S (silent)):

The tweet from the official ASUS ROG account only mentions two models. Therefore, it's entirely possible that this fanless update will only apply to a select few X570 boards.
