Recent rumors about the six-core Ryzen 5 3500X lacking SMT support have been confirmed. AMD is set to unveil new budget processors, with prices expected to stay under $160.
While early leaks pointed to a single new processor, it turns out there are actually two: the Ryzen 5 3500X and Ryzen 5 3500.
Both chips boast a 3600MHz base clock and boost up to 4100MHz. But don't let those numbers fool you. While the Ryzen 5 3500X packs a generous 32MB of L3 cache, the non-'X' variant will reportedly offer only half that, at 16MB, according to the source.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИIt's still unclear how much this cache reduction will impact overall performance, but we have a clearer picture of the pricing. The Ryzen 5 3500X is expected to launch at $150, while its 'trimmed' counterpart, the Ryzen 5 3500, could arrive around $129. Unfortunately, the exact price for the latter remains unconfirmed.
