AMD has confirmed the 64-core, 128-thread Ryzen Threadripper 3990X (TRX40) will launch in 2020. It's set to feature 288MB of L3 cache and a 280W TDP.
According to reliable source VideoCardz, AMD today confirmed it will launch a 64-core Threadripper model for its TRX40 HEDT platform next year.
The upcoming AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X flagship will pack a massive 288MB of L3 cache and fit within a 280-watt power envelope. It's likely the new chip will cost significantly more than the 3970X (which is available today for $1999). But that's no surprise, considering the 3990X essentially features twice as many active dies under its lid as the 3970X.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИIt's quite amusing that these latest rumors about AMD's 64-core monster emerged precisely on the launch day of Intel's 10th-gen Core lineup.
