A YouTuber has shown off the Xbox Series X running backward compatible games, demonstrating how its SSD and powerful CPU deliver blazing-fast load times and smooth 4K/60FPS gameplay.
The first hands-on impressions of Microsoft's next-gen Xbox Series X have hit YouTube. Yesterday, the Redmond giant lifted its embargo on previews from select media partners, and YouTuber Kevin Kenson was among the first to share his video report.
While not all the games shown have received their final next-gen patches for Microsoft's flagship console, their performance is already highly impressive.
The video below showcases gameplay from the following titles: Control (Xbox One), Destiny 2 (Xbox One), Monster Hunter World (Xbox One), Panzer Dragoon Orta (Xbox), Fusion Frenzy (Xbox), Final Fantasy XV (Xbox One), Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (Xbox One), Fallout: New Vegas (Xbox 360), Crackdown 3 (Xbox One), AC: Odyssey (Xbox One), Hydro Thunder Hurricane (Xbox 360), Doom Eternal (Xbox One), Gears of War 3 (Xbox 360), Banjo Kazooie (Xbox 360), Quantum Break (Xbox One), Halo Anniversary (Xbox 360), RDR2 (Xbox One), Sunset Overdrive (Xbox One), Geometry Wars, and Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One).

As Kevin points out, backward-compatible games see a massive drop in loading times. This is hardly surprising given that the new console swaps out the current-gen mechanical HDD for an SSD, paired with a CPU that is nearly ten times more powerful.
In addition to drastically shorter load times and improved performance, Microsoft's next-gen console will also bring HDR support to original Xbox and Xbox 360 games.
