TAGG sets new records for Core 2 Duo E6850 and Pentium E2140

Austrian overclocker TAGG has grabbed two gold medals in the category rankings for the high-end dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 and the budget Pentium E2140.

Cooled with liquid nitrogen, the E2140 was pushed to 4320 MHz (+170.00% over stock), allowing the enthusiast to complete the SuperPi - 32M benchmark in 11 minutes, 5 seconds, and 343 milliseconds. This secured him first place in the CPU's category ranking:

The test bench for the Pentium E2140 consisted of the following components:

• Motherboard: ASUS Rampage Extreme;

• RAM: two 2 GB sticks of CORSAIR Dominator GT DDR3;

• Power supply: 850W SuperNOVA G2.

For the E6860, the same liquid nitrogen pot was used, pushing the 65nm chip to an impressive 5540 MHz (+84.67% over stock). This overclock allowed TAGG to finish the SuperPi - 32M benchmark in 8 minutes, 53 seconds, and 875 milliseconds, claiming first place in the aging dual-core's category ranking:
