Overclocker Mikecdm pushed an Intel Core i7-7740X to 6804 MHz using liquid nitrogen, securing the top spot in the Cinebench R20 benchmark.
American overclocker Mikecdm has taken first place in the rankings for the relatively popular Intel Core i7-7740X, a quad-core processor on the LGA 2066 platform.
Using a liquid nitrogen pot for cooling, the enthusiast managed to push the aging 8-thread processor to an impressive 6,804 MHz and successfully complete the Cinebench - R20 benchmark with a score of 3,729 points:
This score was more than enough to claim first place in both the individual Core i7-7740X rankings and the global quad-core leaderboard.
The overclocker's test bench consisted of the following components:
ASRock X299 OC Formula motherboard;
Two 8GB sticks of G.SKILL RIPJAWS V F4-4266C16-8GVK RAM;
