Overclocker Splave has set an absolute record among all 8-core processors, pushing an Intel Core i9-9900KF to 6984 MHz.
American overclocker Splave makes rare appearances on the HWBot front page, but when he does, he always brings truly impressive results.
Today, for instance, after a week of quiet, Splave delivered an absolute record for all eight-core processors, achieved with an Intel Core i9-9900KF clocked at 6984 MHz:

⤢ ВІДКРИТИThis is a significant achievement, as at least three processors are currently capable of such overclocks: the original Core i9-9900K, today's subject Core i9-9900KF, and the recent newcomer Core i9-9900KS. Enthusiasts had high hopes for the latter, but it hasn't quite lived up to them yet. Still, the Core i9-9900KS's main results are yet to come, as only a small number of samples have been explored so far.
Splave didn't detail the full system configuration used for the record, a common practice. But a video comment and confirmation screenshot pinpoint the ASRock Z170M OC Formula motherboard.
