Remedy has drastically reduced Control's system requirements, meaning the game now demands less powerful hardware. Great news for gamers.
A few weeks ago, Remedy Entertainment unveiled the PC system requirements for its upcoming project, Control. They were surprisingly high, causing some concern among the gaming community.
This wasn't entirely surprising, given that Quantum Break, another Remedy title, was also notoriously demanding.
However, yesterday Remedy updated Control's system requirements.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe minimum requirements now list a Core i5 4690 or FX 4350, replacing the previous Core i5 7500 and Ryzen 3 1300X. Graphics cards also saw a significant downgrade: instead of the previously required GTX 1060 or RX 580, the game now needs a considerably older GTX 780 or R9 280X. The latter, by the way, is essentially an ultra-old, rebadged Radeon HD 7970.
Recommended requirements have also changed. Instead of a Core i5 8600K or Ryzen 7 2700X, the game now asks for a Core i5 7600K or Ryzen 5 1600X. The required graphics card has also shifted from a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or Radeon VII to a GTX 1660/1060 or Radeon RX 580.
Even the ray tracing system requirements have been updated. Instead of an RTX 2080, the game now only needs an RTX 2060, which is excellent news for fans of the technology.
