Overclocker Splave has become the absolute leader in SuperPi - 32M, pushing a Core i9-12900KS to 7492 MHz with liquid nitrogen to smash previous records.
Splave, the American overclocker and an undisputed leader in many disciplines, has reaffirmed his top-tier status by securing an absolute first place in SuperPi – 32M. The enthusiast not only took the lead for the Core i9-12900KS processor model and the 8-core ranking, but also clinched overall gold among all CPUs, regardless of core/thread count.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИFor his motherboard and RAM, the overclocker opted for his go-to setup: an ASRock Z690 Aqua OC and Gskill TridentZ F5-6000U4040E16G. Both components were liquid nitrogen-cooled, allowing Splave to push the processor to 7494 MHz and the DDR5 memory to 7595 MHz, respectively.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИBeyond the specific test bench hardware, it's crucial to note that Splave only kept 4 P-cores active out of the 16 total cores during the benchmark run (meaning 4 P-cores and 8 E-cores were deactivated). The reasoning for this technique is quite simple: the SuperPi program isn't designed to work efficiently with a large number of threads. By disabling a portion of the cores, overclockers can significantly boost the processor's frequency, ultimately leading to a much higher final score.
