
Finnish overclocker Luumi has claimed the top spot in the Intel Core i7-4790K rankings after pushing the chip to 6177 MHz using liquid nitrogen.
You have to admire the sheer productivity of Finnish overclocker Luumi. In just over a week, the enthusiast grabbed six records in the Core 2 Duo E6750 category and snatched first place in the GeForce RTX 3090 rankings from his Greek rival, OGS. Not resting on his laurels, the Finn has just shared another impressive milestone today.
This time, Luumi targeted Intel's 4-core, 8-thread Core i7-4790K "Devil's Canyon" processor. Cooled with a liquid nitrogen pot, the CPU was pushed to a massive 6177 MHz (+54.43% over stock), which is highly impressive for the Haswell microarchitecture. Meanwhile, the DDR3 RAM was running at 2700 MHz with timings of 8-12-7-28-96.
