Kolby_Powers sets Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 record at 4709 MHz
German overclocker Kolby_Powers achieved a new SuperPi - 32M record for the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, pushing it to 4709 MHz using dry ice.
German overclocker Kolby_Powers has refreshed the stagnant Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 (45-nanometer Yorkfield-12M core) model ranking in SuperPi - 32M with a brand new record.
Armed with dry ice, a GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-UD3R motherboard, and a dual-channel Corsair Dominator GT DDR3 memory kit, the enthusiast pushed the processor to an impressive 4709 MHz:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe frequency achieved by Kolby_Powers is quite significant for an LGA 775-compatible quad-core processor. The Core 2 Quad Q9550 contains two 45nm dies, and overclocking these CPUs requires meticulous chip selection and extensive system tuning (RAM frequency and timings, FSB, etc.).
The benchmark session concluded with a result of 9 minutes, 38 seconds, and 860 milliseconds:
