French overclocker kikoone31 set a new record for the AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT in GPUPI, pushing the CPU to 5850 MHz with liquid nitrogen.
French overclocker kikoone31 managed to beat the previous record set by fellow overclocker NoMS, taking first place in the AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT category for the GPUPI for CPU - 1B benchmark. Liquid nitrogen cooled the CPU to 5850 MHz (+50% over stock). Meanwhile, the DDR4 RAM was running at 4000 MHz with CL13.0 13-13-30 1T timings. This bench session yielded a time of 1 minute, 57 seconds, and 683 milliseconds:
This result is nothing short of a "miracle" (sarcasm), considering NoMS ran his CPU at the exact same 5850 MHz, but with a higher memory speed of 4333 MHz at slightly looser CL14.0 13-13-24 timings. Theoretically, the higher RAM frequency should have offset the looser timings, which suggests kikoone31 used some OS tweaks to squeeze out the winning score.
kikoone31's test bench consisted of the following components:
OS: Windows 10;
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact (BIOS 2010);
RAM: 2x 8 GB Kingston KHX4000C19D4/8GX;
CPU cooling: Kingpin Cooling T-REX;
Power supply: MasterWatt Maker 1500W.
