Patch 1.05 for Horizon Zero Dawn fixes crashes and stability issues while also improving overall performance and graphics.
Guerrilla Games has released patch 1.05 for Horizon Zero Dawn. Like previous updates, this one aims to fix remaining issues and slightly improve the game's overall performance.
Patch 1.05 addresses several crashes occurring both at launch and during gameplay:
Fixed a NetPresenceManager crash that some players experienced when signing in;
Fixed a crash where the Steam SDK could fail during initialization if the game executable was launched directly from the install folder instead of through Steam;
Fixed a crash that occurred if a player clicked 'Stop Game' in Steam immediately after clicking 'Play';
Fixed a launch crash when using Avast antivirus;
Fixed a crash that could occur when the game exceeded its allocated video memory.
Beyond crash fixes, Horizon Zero Dawn patch 1.05 also brings several graphics improvements. For example, Aloy's hair now renders correctly above 30 frames per second, and shader animations are no longer capped at 30 FPS.
Fixed an issue with flickering textures in the main quest 'The Gift of the Past';
Fixed an issue with flickering snow assets;
Fixed an issue with flickering images in Song's Edge;
Fixed graphical artifacting issues that only occurred on certain GPUs;
Fixed a bug where the game would open in windowed mode instead of fullscreen if the player was using another window while the game loaded;
Fixed a bug where the game wouldn't launch at the correct resolution when switching from windowed to fullscreen mode;
Added an option to disable 'blurred sidebars' in ultrawide resolutions and instead display black sidebars.
