d0minat0r overclocks Core i5-2500K to 6382 MHz, breaks his own record

d0minat0r overclocks Intel Core i5-2500K to 6382 MHz, setting a new world record and surpassing his previous result.

It's only been 16 days since the Serb known as d0minat0r last took gold. Back then, he pushed an Intel Core i5-2500K to a seemingly impressive 6025 MHz. But just yesterday, he smashed his own record, taking the chip to an even more insane 6382 MHz!

108.17 MHz QPI!

That's right, you heard correctly — insane! Processors based on Intel's Sandy Bridge architecture barely crack 6000 MHz, let alone the frequency d0minat0r's chip just hit.

The Serb's test bench hasn't changed much, featuring these components:

  • Motherboard — Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z

  • Cooling — Phase-change system

  • RAM — 1x 2048 MB Corsair (CM3X2G1866C7GT)

  • Graphics card — ASUS GeForce GT 610

  • SSD — Intel SSDSA2M120G2GC (FW: 2CV102M3)

  • Monitor — BenQ GL2450 (BNQ78A4)

His peers congratulated the enthusiast, and like us, they were both surprised and puzzled by such an incredibly high frequency:
