Hungarian overclocker CSZ set two new records for the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, pushing the chip to almost 4.7 GHz.
It looks like Hungarian overclocker CSZ is going all-in on the legacy LGA 775 platform. Since the start of autumn, the enthusiast has topped several CPU rankings, including the Core 2 Duo E8400, Core 2 Quad Q9650 and Q6700. Now, CSZ has targeted the Core 2 Quad Q9550. Looking at today's results, they've clearly bagged an exceptional bin of this chip:
CSZ successfully pushed the Q9550 to 4675-4696 MHz (depending on the benchmark) to complete wPrime - 32m as well as its heavier counterpart, wPrime - 1024m.
Benchmark: | Result: | CPU frequency: |
7sec 628ms | 4696 MHz | |
4min 5sec 280ms | 4675.9 MHz |
The CPU was paired with the popular and highly regarded GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard, along with an unidentified dual-channel kit of two 2GB DDR3 memory modules from OCZ.
