The community immediately split into two camps: some were convinced the developers were finally ready to release the fourth mainline installment, while others insisted Crytek was preparing a remaster of one of their older titles.
It seems the latter group was right. Feast your eyes on the teaser trailer for Crysis Remastered – a technical and graphical overhaul of the original Crysis:
According to the official website, the remaster is set to launch this summer (barring any unforeseen circumstances) across all current platforms: PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and most notably – Nintendo Switch.
Key features include enhanced lighting, improved textures, better anti-aliasing, optimization for modern hardware, and – most intriguingly – software-based ray tracing. This means that, in theory, ray tracing in Crysis Remastered should work on your system regardless of your graphics card.
