CD Projekt Red is rolling out Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.01 to address bugs and issues introduced with the 2.0 update, while also boosting game performance.
Just recently, Polish developers rolled out a major update for their latest creation, Cyberpunk 2077. While Patch 2.0 was intended as the final milestone in the iconic game's development, it seems, as is often the case with CD PROJEKT RED, not everything went according to plan.
While Update 2.0 certainly delivered a massive amount of improvements, along with a ton of fixes and gameplay refinements, it also, true to form, managed to break several in-game mechanics and quests. As our editor often quips, "this patch desperately needs its own patch." The Polish developers are, right now, actively working on rectifying the new issues.
Here's a list of the main changes you can expect in Update 2.01:
The visual distortions that appeared when choosing a specific dialogue option during your conversation with Johnny at the end of the "Dollhouse" quest will no longer persist on screen.
In the "Big in Japan" quest, V will no longer fall through the elevator when ascending to the 42nd floor, and won't die due to low frame rates.
An issue causing controller button prompts to appear in the UI while playing with a keyboard and mouse has been fixed.
Players can now easily switch to arm implants while cycling through weapons.
"Gig: Breaking News" will now properly activate when players approach the mission area.
Car radio volume levels will be adjusted to ensure they aren't too quiet compared to other in-game sounds.
We're addressing the corrupted save issue on PlayStation and increasing the maximum save file size. Note: this won't recover saves corrupted before this update. If you've run into this problem, make a separate (e.g., manual) save of your current playthrough before Update 2.01 drops.
Performance will see improvements on both PC and consoles, particularly within Dogtown.
Keep in mind, these are just the most significant changes. Full details will be available in the patch notes when Update 2.01 officially releases.
While the exact release date for the hotfix remains unknown, the developers themselves confirm it's expected very soon.
