American overclocker bigblock990 claimed gold and an absolute record in 3DMark2001 SE for dual GPUs, leveraging a pair of heavily overclocked GTX 580s and a Core i9-9900K.
American overclocker bigblock990 hadn't been heard from for nearly two months, but his return is making some serious noise.
Armed with a pair of rather "vintage" GeForce GTX 580 graphics cards, pushed to 950MHz/1900MHz core and 4800MHz memory, alongside a Core i9-9900K CPU clocked at 7100MHz, the American managed to bag two rather impressive records.
The first achievement is gold in the GeForce GTX 580 dual-card category. The second, more impressive feat, is an absolute record for any two graphics cards in 3DMark2001 SE.

⤢ ВІДКРИТИNaturally, much of the credit goes to the heavily overclocked processor, which arguably makes bigblock990 's GPU result less striking.
The overclocker only revealed the motherboard, RAM, and power supply used in his test bench: an ASRock Z170M OC Formula, G.SKILL Trident Z (2x 8GB), and a 1600-watt SuperNOVA G2, respectively.
Details on the record-setting cards themselves remain somewhat unclear. While GPU-Z's Device-ID entry suggests they were MSI-branded, the enthusiast, unfortunately, didn't specify the exact models.
