The world's first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus is almost here. ASUS has officially announced the ROG Phone II.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe phone features a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. If it's not set to 120Hz by default, you'll need to enable it in the settings.
ASUS says the new flagship boasts a 240Hz touch sampling rate, resulting in a mere 49ms touch response latency.
Furthermore, the ROG Phone II's display is protected by Gorilla Glass 6, supports 10-bit HDR, offers a 10000:1 contrast ratio, and covers 108% of the DCI-P3 color space.
Powering the flagship is the recently announced Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC. It packs a substantial 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, coupled with 512GB of internal storage.
Given such powerful internals and its target audience of serious gamers, it's no surprise ASUS opted for an exceptionally large 6000 mAh battery and 30W fast charging.
The Taiwanese manufacturer claims the device can last roughly 7.1 hours playing PUBG Mobile at a 60Hz refresh rate before needing a recharge.
The ROG Phone II features a dual-camera setup at the rear, consisting of 48MP and 13MP sensors. Up front, there's a 24MP selfie camera.
Currently, ASUS hasn't disclosed detailed pricing or availability for its new flagship, but we'll be sure to update you when they do.
Given its impressive specifications, however, we can expect a price tag of $1000 or more.
