The long-awaited visual overhaul of the Steam library finally has an open beta start date. If you have a Valve store account, you can sign up for the open beta, which kicks off on September 17.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe update brings a fresh look to the homepage with a more modern design, offering quick access to game updates, recently played titles, friend activities, and your personal collections.
Valve is also significantly simplifying how you see what your friends have been up to and what they're currently playing. All relevant information will now appear directly on the main page.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThis update is long overdue for Valve. Steam has faced stiff competition in the PC market, especially over the past year. The new Epic Games Store has signed a number of exclusive deals for titles like Metro Exodus, Shenmue 3, and Oddworld: Soulstorm.
There's also GOG Galaxy 2.0, which promises to unify all your PC games into a single client, thereby solving one of modern gamers' biggest pain points.
Once the beta test begins, we'll keep you updated on all the new features coming to Steam.
