The release of AMD's 64-core, 128-thread Ryzen Threadripper 3990X monster immediately saw a flurry of local and global records fall on HWBot. But as usual, these initial benchmarks are quickly bested by more seasoned overclockers who take a more methodical approach to their sessions, prioritizing stability and optimization over speed.
Today, American overclocker Splave smashed a new world record with a Threadripper 3990X pushed to an impressive 5400.6MHz:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИTo secure three gold medals in wPrime - 1024m — first place in the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X model ranking, first among 64-core CPUs, and first across all core/thread counts — the enthusiast leveraged an ASRock TRX40 Taichi motherboard, a quad-channel kit of 8GB G.SKILL F4-3800C14-8GTZN RAM sticks, and dual Enermax Maxtytan 1250W power supplies.
The final score? An impressive 11.541 seconds:
⤢ ВІДКРИТИAccording to CPU-Z (though that’s always a bit questionable), the core voltage was set at 1.500 volts. Meanwhile, the RAM ran at 3600MHz with incredibly tight 12-12-12-35 timings and a Command Rate of 1T.
