Overclocker Splave achieved two new world records for 12-core CPUs, pushing an AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT to an incredible 5710 MHz using liquid nitrogen.
While the frequency potential of AMD's "Matisse Refresh" processors has been thoroughly explored by now, it doesn't stop seasoned overclockers like Splave from continuing their hunt for the "golden sample" of each refreshed model. For instance, the American overclocker recently got his hands on an incredibly potent Ryzen 9 3900XT.
At a relatively low (for liquid nitrogen!) voltage of 1.500 volts, Splave managed to hit 5650 MHz and 5710 MHz (depending on the benchmark). This earned the American overclocker two top spots in the CPU's model rankings and two gold medals in the 12-core category:
With the CPU cores pushed this far, the DDR4 RAM also achieved a significant 4666 MHz with 14-14-14-28 timings.
Discipline: | Result: | CPU frequency: |
34.777 FPS | 5650MHz | |
83018 points | 5710MHz |
The enthusiast's test rig consisted of the following components:
Motherboard - ASRock X570 Taichi (Bios P1.40D)
RAM - G.SKILL TridentZ F4-3800C14-8GTZN
Thermal paste - Thermal Grizzly Kryo Lhe
Power supply - Enermax Maxtytan 1250w
