British overclocker Matt26LFC has secured four gold medals in the AMD FX-8120's 4-module category, setting new records using liquid nitrogen.
You'd think that after eight years since the AMD FX-8100 (32nm/Zambezi) processors launched, their potential would be fully explored, making new records in 2020 incredibly difficult, if not impossible. But luckily for us, British overclocker Matt26LFC isn't one to shy away from a challenge. He somehow got his hands on an exceptionally good AMD FX-8120 chip and managed to set a whopping four records in the processor's model category!
During the benchmark runs, the FX-8120's frequency ranged from 6718 MHz to 6736 MHz. The CPU was cooled using a liquid nitrogen pot and mounted on an almost ultimate AM3+ board, the ASUS ROG Crosshair V Formula.
Benchmarks and results:
Benchmark | Result | CPU frequency |
11.02 points | 6718МГц | |
1020 points | 6718МГц | |
6min 8sec 484ms | 6736МГц | |
23sec 705ms | 6720МГц |
Other known components in the test rig included G.SKILL PI series RAM (4GB, 2x 2GB sticks) and a robust 1600-watt Super Flower Leadex power supply.
