US enthusiast AKM set a new y-cruncher - Pi-1b record, pushing an Intel Core i9-10900X to an impressive 5398 MHz. It's a notable achievement for the chip.
Currently, Cascade Lake-X processors aren't particularly popular among overclockers, but that doesn't mean these chips have reached their limits. Today, American enthusiastAKM managed to set a new record in the y-cruncher - Pi-1b discipline using an aging 10-core Intel Core i9-10900X CPU.
Armed with an ASRock X299 OC Formula motherboard and a G.SKILL F4-3300C16-8GTZKW RAM kit, the overclocker pushed his sample's frequencies to a substantial 5398 MHz. It's important to note that Cascade Lake-X is a slightly refined version of the Skylake architecture, known for high power consumption and poor frequency scaling beyond 5100 MHz. That's why overclocking a 10-core CPU to 5400 MHz is such a significant achievement.
The processor was cooled with liquid nitrogen, allowing AKM to complete the y-cruncher - Pi-1b benchmark with a result of 19 seconds and 941 milliseconds.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИThis secures first place in the chip's model category, as well as a gold medal in the ten-core processor category.
⤢ ВІДКРИТИInterestingly, AKM surpassed fellow overclocker Splave in his own domain. A quick look at Splave's record wall makes it clear he's practically unrivaled in experiments with LGA 2066-compatible CPUs. Thus, it's quite possible that Splave will dust off his old Intel test bench and surprise us with new results.
