The 32-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X is already breaking world records, and we're covering the first ones set by top overclockers.
Given Zen 2's performance boost over Zen 1, we fully expected "day one" records from third-gen Threadripper chips. But the sheer number of them is still a bit surprising.
Currently, the overclocking record for the 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 3970X belongs to Taiwanese overclocker TSAIK:

⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe chip hit 5752.97MHz with liquid nitrogen cooling, running on an MSI Creator TRX40 (MS-7C59) motherboard.
Next up is South Korean enthusiast safedisk, who immediately broke six records with the 32-core monster:

⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe overclocker secured his first three gold medals in the Geekbench3 - Multi Core discipline. One of these was for 32-core chips globally, while another astonishingly set a new world record across all processors, regardless of core count.

⤢ ВІДКРИТИThe Korean achieved a similar feat in Cinebench R15, earning yet another absolute world record among all chips.
AMD's new processors are simply stunning. And the company hasn't even released its 64-core, 128-thread model yet! It's hard to imagine the chaos that will unfold on the HWBot leaderboard once the 3990X finally launches.
But let's move on to the remaining results, as another world record is here, this time from Romanian overclocker Alex@ro:

⤢ ВІДКРИТИThis time, the enthusiast chose the less popular Cinebench R20 discipline and swept all the trophies, dominating both the model-specific and overall CPU rankings.
Last but not least, we have another world record, this time from Italian overclocker rsannino in the wPrime - 1024m discipline:

⤢ ВІДКРИТИCinebench R11.5 - MT - 110.28 points @ 5450MHz (LUCKY_NOOB, Indonesia)
Cinebench R20 - MT - 23081 points @ 5375MHz (ALEX@RO, Romania)
Cinebench R15 - MT - 10672 points @ 5525MHz (SAFEDISK, South Korea)
Cinebench R15 - Extreme - 2362 points @ 4468MHz (KEEPH8N, USA)
Cinebench R11.5 - MT - 81.04 points @ 5199MHz (KEEPH8N, USA)
Geekbench 3 - Multi-Core - 185114 points @ 5525MHz (SAFEDISK, South Korea)
All of this is just the beginning; we're still waiting for new records to drop in 3DMark and other graphics benchmarks. We'll do our best to keep you updated on the latest shifts in the new CPU leaderboards.
