Overclocker Splave shattered the GeForce GTX 680 world record, pushing the GPU to 2103 MHz with liquid nitrogen. He also published modified BIOS files.
Splave, one of America's most skilled overclockers, has just announced his latest significant achievement. He managed to get his hands on an exceptionally binned NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 graphics card — specifically, an MSI N680GTX Lightning — and used it to set a new record in the GPUPI - 1B discipline for the GeForce GTX 680 model category. The card's GPU was cooled with liquid nitrogen, hitting a clock speed of 2103 MHz, while its GDDR5 memory reached 7011 MHz.
The overclocker's result was an impressive 30 seconds and 999 milliseconds:
Other components in the test bench included an Intel Core i9-10900K processor overclocked to 4900 MHz, an ASRock Z490 Aqua motherboard, and 16 GB of G.SKILL DDR4 RAM (two 8 GB sticks, part number 04CD F4-3800C14-8GTZN).
In addition, Splave has released his modified BIOS files for the N680GTX Lightning graphics card. So, if you own one of these cards and have been eager to try extreme overclocking, now's your chance to leverage software from a pro. Just remember, standard cooling won't cut it for these kinds of voltages and frequencies.
