Rumors that AMD will present its new graphics products early next year come from one of the trusted Chiphell forum users. At one time, he very accurately predicted the appearance of such a video card as Radeon RX 590.

So, according to his information, AMD will show GPUs based on the 2nd generation of the RDNA architecture at CES 2020.

Here are some features of the next RDNA iteration:

  • Optimized 7nm process technology to achieve higher frequencies without sacrificing energy efficiency
  • Hardware support for real-time ray tracing
  • A combination of relatively cheap GDDR6 video memory and expensive HBM2
  • RDNA2 based chips will be more power-efficient than previous RDNA GPUs

At the moment, this is all that is known about future AMD products. However, we can say with great confidence that in the next generation we will have a top-end GPU with HBM2 memory. Moreover, according to some leaks, the volume of HBM2 in AMD’s high-end solutions will be an impressive 32GB.
