Finnish overclocker Luumi has four records at once in the 4-core, 8-thread Intel Core i7-930 processor rank. This 45nm chip is designed for the LGA 1366 platform and belongs to the first generation of Intel Core i7 processors.

The enthusiast got his first gold in the SuperPi – 1M discipline. The chip was overclocked to a frequency of 5270 MHz, and the result was 7 seconds 640 milliseconds:

Then the overclocker took on a more complex SuperPi variation – SuperPi – 32M and overclocked the chip to 5128MHz and got the following results:

6 minutes 59 seconds 547 milliseconds

After the single-threaded discipline, Luumi decided to try even harder benchmarks and switched to tests in wPrime. To begin with, the enthusiast set a record for a relatively simple wPrime – 32m. At the same time, the processor frequency dropped even more and was equal to 5155 MHz, and the result was 4 seconds 641 milliseconds:

And in the end, Luumi consolidated his leadership in the Intel Core i7-930 rank with gold in the wPrime – 1024m. In this case, the stable processor frequency dropped most noticeably – to 5045 MHz, and the test result was 2 minutes 30 seconds 41 milliseconds:

The final test setup consisted of the following components:

  • Motherboard – ASUS Rampage III Black Edition
  • RAM – 3 x 2GB Corsair Dominator GTX2
  • Power supply – Super Flower 8Pack 2000 watt
