LUUMI BECAME THE FIRST IN THE INTEL CORE I7-4790K PROCESSOR rank

The performance of the Finnish overclocker Luumi can only be envied. Judge for yourself: in just a little over a week, the enthusiast has earned six records in the rank of the Core 2 Duo E6750 chip and snatched first place in the rank of the GeForce RTX 3090 video card from his Greek colleague OGS. However, the Finn decided not to stop there, and today he published a fresh achievement.

This time, Luumi’s target is a 4-core, 8-thread Intel Core i7-4790K “Devil’s Canyon” chip. The processor was cooled with liquid nitrogen and was overclocked to a very high (by the standards of Haswell microarchitecture) frequency of 6177 MHz (+54.43% to the base). At the same time, DDR3 RAM operated at a frequency of 2700 MHz with timings 8-12-7-28-96.

The result of this bench session was gold in the rank of the processor of the same name in the Cinebench – R15 discipline:

The enthusiast’s test setup consisted of the following components:

  • Motherboard – ASRock Z97 OC Formula (BIOS version – L1.12D);
  • RAM – Patriot 2500LL, 2 x 2GB;
  • OS – Windows 7 (version 6.1.7601).
