And this is certainly a completely logical step. Indeed, at the moment, the new LGA 1200 platform includes absolutely all versions of the 8th generation Core processors. Even the expensive and ultimatum in the past, the Core i7-8700K (6 cores, 12 threads) chip has been replaced by the affordable and slightly faster Core i5-10600K (6 cores, 12 threads).
And in general, now in each of the 10th generation Intel CPU lines, for example, i3, i7, or i9, there is a processor that is quite noticeably superior to its counterpart from the 8th and even in some places of the 9th generation.

It should be understood that this decision by Intel will not in any way affect the guarantees of existing 8-generation Core chips and new processors of the same 8-generation Core acquired after the end of their production.
