Intel will soon release a new flagship processor for its mainstream LGA1151 platform.
The Core i9-9900KS will not physically differ from the existing i9-9900K and will still have the same 8 cores, 16 threads and 16MB of L3 cache.
However, the frequencies of the new chip will rise significantly. If the i9-9900K for all cores could only reach 4700MHz, then the i9-9900KS will be able to boast the coveted 5000MHz in the maximum boost.
This is a good increase in performance in the same thermal package of 95 watts (most likely the actual TDP values will be much higher). And considering the competitor’s problems in achieving high frequencies, this processor looks like a formidable opponent.
The exact release date of the Intel Core i9-9900KS processor is currently unknown, but rumors predict the start of sales in October this year.
