The updated LGA2066 platform will be released next month and according to Intel itself, the processors intended for it will be 1.74-2.09 times more powerful per dollar than the existing solutions based on the Skylake-X architecture (and it is not specified here, it is said about the ninth generation or the seventh)

The new HEDT platform will continue to offer the same core count as the Skylake-X architecture, which has up to 18 cores.

Intel also compares the upcoming platform to the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2000 series:

However, here it should be borne in mind that the AMD platform will also receive an update soon – Ryzen Threadripper 3000 based on the new Zen 2 architecture. Therefore, the new Cascade Lake-X processors will need to be compared with them.
