More recently, on August 5, we announced the first launch of Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PlayStation 3. However, yesterday it became known that the developers have advanced much further. Already, MGS 4 not only starts up and shows the title screen, but, albeit with artifacts, allows it to play.

For those who do not know, ingame is the status of the game in which emulation allows you to directly reach the gameplay, while the stability of the emulation remains at a low level and the graphics are replete with errors and artifacts. What MGS 4 demonstrates now:

The promised day has finally arrived! Thanks to a recent enhancement made by eladash, the coveted PlayStation exclusive, Metal Gear Solid 4, now works in RPCS3. Above you can see some of the gameplay footage.

Work on the launch of this title has been carried out since 2017 with the introduction of Numan sys_overlay and subsequent improvements by Nekotekina and eladash. Thanks to the efforts of the developers, RPCS3 has reached a new milestone in its accuracy and compatibility.

While there is still much to improve for graphics and performance, few testers have already been able to push the framerate cap to 60fps using eladash’s vblank feature last month without negatively impacting on the gameplay. Additional tests are needed to confirm this, but the initial prognosis is only positive! Snake took his time, but it looks like the expectation has finally paid off.

Apparently, this is just the beginning, and soon we will have quite an adequate picture and acceptable fps in one of the most memorable games on the PlayStation 3.
