GSC GAME WORLD: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 TOO GOOD FOR THE PAST GENERATION OF CONSOLE

GSC Game World studio reported that the reason their over-anticipated project won’t make it to the previous generation PS4 and Xbox One consoles is due to a banal lack of performance on those devices.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 just can’t run on PS4 and Xbox One. It’s a “next generation game.”

If the developers’ words about the “new generation game” turn out to be true then it is likely that we will again expect truly advanced graphics, effects, as well as interesting gameplay solutions, as was the case in the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (and for the first three parts the shooter brought the volumetric fog and deferred shading, as well as a bunch of small innovations).

By the way, the studio GSC Game World also recently said that over the second part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. at the moment more than 300 people work. However, as we already found out on the example of several projects last year (we will not point fingers), this does not say anything at all about the final quality of the project.
