Destiny 2 finally moved from Battle.Net to Steam last night, and with this event, Bungie launched a free version of the game called “New Light”.

The game servers were unavailable for 24 hours – from 19:00 on September 30 and until 19:45 on October 1. During this time, the development team was transferring character saves from the Blizzard service to the Valve store.

Not without problems. Apparently, the developers did not count on such a large influx of new players and did not prepare their servers for high online. At its peak, it reached 220 thousand active players!

Within 10 hours, entering the game was almost impossible due to the queues of 20-40 thousand users. Those gamers who were still lucky enough to enter the game servers did not have to rejoice for a long time, because they could be thrown onto the title screen in a few minutes.

Fortunately, these problems have now been resolved and each player has the opportunity to enjoy the free version of Destiny 2.
