The first version of the system requirements for the hotly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 was published back in September this year, and then, CD Projekt Red studio limited itself to only the “minimum” and “recommended” hardware configuration, without saying a word about the necessary hardware to run the game with ray tracing.

However, today the Polish developer corrected this omission and demonstrated the detailed system requirements of its long-term game:

So, the minimum required PC configuration for comfortable gaming at low settings in 1080p resolution has not actually changed:

  • OS: Windows 7 or Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310;
  • RAM: 8GB;
  • Video card: NVIDIA GTX 780 or AMD Radeon RX 470 (3GB+);
  • Storage: 70GB (SSD recommended).

But the recommended hardware for high settings and 1080p resolution has been slightly changed:

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G;
  • RAM: 12GB;
  • Video card: NVIDIA GTX 1060/1660 SUPER or AMD Radeon RX 590 (6GB+) (previously listed as Radeon R9 Fury for AMD);
  • Hard disk space: 70GB on SSD.

In addition, CD Projekt Red added system requirements for 1440p resolution + ultra graphics quality settings:

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G;
  • RAM: 12GB;
  • Video card: NVIDIA RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (6GB+);
  • Hard disk space: 70GB on SSD.

And also, for ultra settings and 4K resolution:

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600;
  • RAM: 16GB;
  • Video card: NVIDIA GTX 2080 SUPER/RTX3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800XT (8GB+);
  • Hard disk space: 70GB on SSD.

And of course, CDPR finally published the highly anticipated hardware requirements for ray tracing enabled:

Medium ray-tracing quality, 1080p resolution:

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G;
  • RAM: 16GB;
  • Video card: NVIDIA RTX 2060 (6GB) (AMD graphics card not listed);
  • Hard disk space: 70GB on SSD.

Ultraray-tracing quality, 1440p resolution:

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600;
  • RAM: 16GB;
  • Video card: NVIDIA RTX 3070 (8GB) (AMD graphics card not listed);
  • Hard disk space: 70GB on SSD.

Ultra ray-tracing quality, 2160p (4K) resolution:

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600;
  • RAM: 16GB;
  • Video card: NVIDIA RTX 3080 (10GB) (AMD graphics card not listed);
  • Hard disk space: 70GB on SSD.

In general, even taking into account the “ultra preset of graphics quality + 4K”, the final system requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 turned out to be very, very democratic. If we return to the popular and mass resolution of 1080p, then everything is even better: the project is optimized for popular cards such as GTX 1060 / RX 590, which means that the vast majority of gamers will be able to play at high graphics quality settings.

As for the notorious RTX, given the close partnership of CDPR with NVIDIA, we can safely assume that ray tracing in Cyberpunk 2077 will work a little faster on “green” video cards. Nevertheless, it is quite obvious that you need to wait for the release of the project and then draw any conclusions.
