Just a few hours ago, a photo of a supposed engineering sample of the AMD Radeon RX 6800XT graphics adapter built on the Navi 21 chip surfaced on the network.

The image below appeared on Twitter for a few minutes, however, the author soon deleted his entry. Nevertheless, clever enthusiasts managed to save the photo he published:

Since this design of the video card has not yet been seen in the early leaks, most likely we are dealing with a reference printed circuit board of the Radeon RX 6800XT video card. The presented copy is clearly a prototype since the memory modules are not soldered on it, nevertheless, the VRM power systems are in their places and, moreover, they are covered with rather massive radiators.

However, it cannot be ruled out that we have one of the custom samples of Radeon RX 6800XT (Navi 21 XT) or RX 6800 (Navi 21 XL) cards from one of AMD’s manufacturing partners.

By the way, the location of the power system is quite similar to that of the GeForce RTX 3080 and 3090 video cards:

Thus, we can indirectly say that the power consumption of the Radeon RX 6800XT can exceed 250 watts.

As a reminder, AMD is going to announce its Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards on October 28th.
